86 f150

i am looking at a 86 f150, i believe it's a 4 speed stick with a 302 new carb and heating core, i dont know much else about this truck but i was just wondering an overview of the truck

What do you want to know? Everyone in here will recommend you buy it, because they are crazy about the 80-86 models.

What are you going to use it for?

ill use it for work, pullin my boat and atv and just mainly just a every day driver.
i would like to know the pros and cons about this truck

Good= 302 + 4speed will get fairly decent fuel mileage, probably about 15mpg or so if it's a 4x4. Will make a good daily driver.

Ok= towing. The 302 will tow ok, but don't get in a hurry, and be ready to use those tranny gears. If it's a 4x4, hopefully it has around a 3.50 rearend gear, which should help you out. Pulling the atv will be fine, but I don't know how heavy the boat+trailer you will be towing.

Good=these are popular trucks that use mostly standard Ford drivetrain parts that were made for years, and there still seems to be plenty in the junkyards for parts, at least were I live.
