6 speed manual

anyone have any problems with 3rd and 4th gear just not being there, had some grinding going into third and now gone taking into shop in the next month just dont want to be ripped off

I don't believe too many problems have been found with the manual transmission. Keep us informed, please.

close to 200,000 miles 0n my '05' stick no problems.

6 speed

Yes. 08 F-250, V-10. It would " scratch" going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to third. Didn't matter whether hot or cold. Absolutely the worst manual trans I've ever driven. And I'm talking anything from pick ups to tractor trailer. Even my John Deere tractor with the Sync-shift is better. I like the T-19 in my 86 F-250. I now own a 09 F-250, AUTO.

Wow - complaints about the 6 speed are very rare.

Haven't had any problems with my 06 with 57k but in the cold it can be tough once in a while getting into a specific gear (no gear specifically). Haven't had any gear clash or grinding, also you can't power shift these well not that you should need to anyway.
