All... i have an 01 f250 psd. When i park it on any kind of pavement or concrete it "leaves it's spot" like an old harley, but it's tranny fluid. Is there anywhere that is suspect to look? I've checked all the bolts on the pan and they were all tight. It leaks for awhile and then when the fluid gets to a certain level, no more leaks, but the truck still shifts fine. I check the dipstick and it shows nothing! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks,Jeff
Shows nothing? Do you mean there is not fluid on the dipstick?
Have you looked at any cooling lines running to the radiator. I always have a small intermittent leak where the line enters the radiator. For the dipstick not to read you have to have a substantial leak. Be careful.
thanks for the reply. It's not leaking at the radiator. It's coming down somewhere around between the tranny and motor, i think. And i did mean nothing on the dipstick!!!
I think i have the same leak as you , can`t find it though, I know it`s not the drain pan or bolts. Mine leaks above all that , but I haven`t found the problem yet.
try taking the inspectionn cover off the front of the trans. it covers the torque converter. look up behind the converter and see if the front seal (pump seal)is leaking. if so then the tranny has to come out.
