better braking needed

i own a 1988 F250 supercab 4x4 with c-6 trans. standard drum brakes on rear and disk on the front. I am pushing the limits on this rig in pulling a fith wheel trailer 20,000 total combined gross weight. question has any one installed disk on the rear and what type? or even larger drums and pads. I am open to any ideas, except buying a new rig. this was given to me by my son because it was a dream of mine to own one since their arrival in 88. Many thanks for any information you can provide!! I've been driving chevs. for 30 years and this is my first ford.---no experince with em.

I actually got a set of cross drilled front rotors on my 91 f150 and they helped alot even for around town driving and even more noticeable help with a trailer. I did a quick search on your truck at summitracing.com and they have the rotors for your truck for 100 bucks a side also if you look on their site they have the hawk superduty brake pads there 80 bucks but they work really good. Just thought id let you know they worked out great for me and they fit perfect
