I have a 2000 2wd my right front is makeing a squecky noise when i turn the wheel and going over bumps. When i shack the truck up and down you can hear it just started. Please help
This seems to be a common issue with the Fords,my 97 does the same thing.Ive done some research(here) and it looks like Ball joint issues. My lower ones have grease fittings, but the upper ones dont.I figure my lowers have been replaced,as OEM ball joints have no fittings.
I suggest you look, and see if you have grease fittings..if so grease them,if not theyre likely OEM,and need replacing....for what its worth,my 97 has squeaked since the day I got it about 5 years ago,and nothings fallen off yet......
Well kind of, and when i shake the truck up and down it will do it also. And turning the wheel back and fourth. There are no grease fittings on the ball joints to grease. I was going to try and get a pointed fitting for my grease gun and grease behind the rubbers. But can i take the plastic caseing off around the joint???
My F150 did the same thing, I decided to put upper and lower ball joints on, and the squeking went away. Dont get OEM...Get the moogs and they have grease fitting so you can maintain them.
It wont last though, more than likely, they are already wore and will need replaced. I wouldn't have paid him to do that when you will need them replaced soon anyway!!!!
ya i would think that. he told me they look good just dry and when i come in to get my oil change he will grease them every time im in there for an oil change. he does it for free so hey
