shaking only while in gear
hey, my stuck just started shaking today when i was driving. it only happens when in gear. i put it in park and reved it up but no shaking. when the rpm is low it shakes and it feels like it isnt giving me the power it should be. no lights have come up on the dash. i changed the oil cuz it was low and thought it was just not lubed up enough but it still shakes. just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like it and if i could get any opinions on what might be wrong. i am kinda thinking spark plugs, i havent checked them in a while.

Probably a coil on plug, aka COP. Put it in gear, stand on the brake and lightly give it throttle. If it shakes, you have a misfire.
Could be a plug, maybe a COP boot has cracked and the spark is grounding out, maybe a COP is bad.
Get the codes read to see if there are any misfires detected. They don't always throw a CEL.

the service engine soon light came on solid on my way home from hockey so i think it is missfiring. and it was shaking pretty bad all the way, no matter how fast or slow and rpm. where do you find codes and what are they? im not that mechanically inclined and i just got the truck under a year ago and dont have a repair manual. thanx

Some auto parts stores will hook up an OBDII code reader to the diagnostic port under the dash. Get the code number or numbers and list them here. Someone will reply to tell you what the code means and what the likely cause(s) will be. Good luck!
