Difference between radios
Once again, I'm curious what the difference is...
specifically, what is the difference between these:
1) 6C3T-18C869-AB
2) 8C3T-18C869-AB
3) 8C3T-18C869-EB
I believe that the difference between 1 & 2 are just the year ( 1 is '06, 2 is '08).
and I have not been able to find anything that defines the difference between 2 and 3.
AND with my 6 player CD unit being AFU as regards playing of CDs, although everything else works fine...
I recently decided to undertake the replacement of said radio in my 02 350 crew 7.3 manual (which I love), and said replacement radio just arrived in my office about 2 hours ago..
Now, I was as confused as can be, as regards the varying # series printed on the back of the radios, and frankly could find no one that spoke with authority on the issue, and yet have confidence that the 3L2T-18C815-BD radio will replace the original 1C3F-18C815-AB radio AND provide a subwoofer output with it's xtra 8 pin male plug for the Infinity Basslink powered subwoofer I just won on E Bay.
After some search on the internet, I finally came across a source located at
http://www.issford.com/issford/radio_guide.pdf
which contains the data you need.
For instance ,
1) 6C3T-18C869-AB
"6" = factory designated model 2006.5
C3= F250/350
18800 = Radio & Antenna numbers series
Delphi is the factory number CDR 6C3T-18C869-AD, with a " Phase ll" connector:
dealer installed upgrades: include DM100i Pioneer, CD6 Pioneer, and generate
"AA' or "AB" suffixes.
2) 3) 8C3T-18C869-EB
"8" = factory designated model year 2008
==============
Anyway, if you look at the schedule a while you will figure out how to decode the options.
My "3L2T" replacement radio came out of
2001 - 2003 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC
and is described as
and is the premium 6 cd player
6 premium speakers and one subwoofer unit
with the WWC-type connectors..

hope this helps..

I found the issford site when I was replacing my AM/FM with my CD Player. I could not find any specifics about the suffixes then, but back then it didn't matter.
I am looking at an iPod adapter that claims to only work with the 6C3T-18C869-AB and 6C3T-18C869-AD for a 2005-2008 F250
now either they don't realize that a 2005-2007 radio and a 2008 radio are not physically identical (the radio fits, the connectors plug in, but the antenna doesn't connect, and the trim doesn't match...ask me how I know) or those are the only two they tested it on that worked.
the issford site does not mention the EB suffix anywhere.
