If it's your first time doing it, I would suggest taking it to a shop and having a pro do it. It's an exact science and requires a few special tools. If you do it wrong you will destroy the new gears pretty quickly.

While your in there I would replace all the bearings and seals so you know they will be good for many miles but unless you know about setting the correct backlast on the ring and pinion I would let someone experienced take care of it. I wanna say its like 8 thousants of an inch of back lash that you want but maybe im retarded so dont listen to me lol. You would need a dial indicator, I would just let a pro do it.

Well you have to have the correct pinion depth, the correct backlash, the correct contact pattern in drive and coast oh and the right preload on all the supporting bearings and yeah its a pain in the rear even on the easy ones. If its not don't right it makes some noise, and then after awhile the gear teeth get real sharp and if ya don't catch that in time then all the teeth would just break off and its a toothless set up. I remember back in the old days a kid brought in his rear end outa his car, you could shave with the teeth on those gears. Setting up hypoid gears is not for the faint at heart.

First you can buy a video or use to be able to on ebay instructing one on how to rebuild the 9 inch rear axle. I would also install a solid crush sleeve over the factory crush sleeve. The solid crush sleeve is made up of shims and this is how you set the pinion bearing preload. Much stronger set up.
