I can decode the VIN for you, but it will not help at all if you are looking for the axle ratio and whether it has L/S (Limited Slip) or not.
No FoMoCo VIN has the axle code listed within it.
The AXLE code is listed on the Certification Label (1980 and earlier, on the Warranty Plate).
If it begins with a letter, the truck has L/S. If a number, it does not have L/S.
Post the code, myself or someone will decode it for you.
I don't want to jack this thread but I have a 95 250 4X4 351ci with the Dana 5spd (W), the axle code is 35 can you help with this?
Thanks in advance. I did a search and looked at the tech data sticky and didn't see any thing on decoding axles.
thanks

Thanks, this is my first F250 I had a 95 150 4X4 awhile back so I am learning as I go. So far there are some minor issues. I expected that with a truck this old. I got the 250 to be used as a personal work truck. I hope it all works out.
Thanks again.
I am glad I found this forum it has already answered some of my questions.
Look on the pillar when you open the drivers door. On a '95, it should be there, about a 1/4 way up the pillar. There will be a white label with some info on it. You will find your code there. Post it and you will have you answer.
