Currently I have an 86 f150 with the fuel injected 302. soon It will be getting a cam, header, and exhaust upgrade, along with a shift kit for the AOD. I have 3.55's in the truck now and was wondering what i should go with. Im also putting in a no slip locker.
That's a tough decision. I would say 3.73s if you go with the 295/50s and 4.10s if you go with the 275/60s. The 295/50s are 26.6 inches tall and the 275/60s are 28. 4.10s will give you the ability to keep the 302 revved up and in its powerband. But a 26.6 inch tire is almost a little short for 4.10s.
Is your cam a truck type cam with good off idle power? If yes going with the 3.73s would be good either size and the 4.10s would probably be nice for the taller tires. If it is a car type cam with less low end and more mid and top end power, go with the 4.10s for either size.
