Wish me luck, we`re making a 9 ft wide Bobcat dozer blade for cleaning the snow off our long driveway and farm yard. The wider blade should cut the time down by at least a third.
Sounds like a good idea Morris, free up some time for more lesiurely things. Plus after you get it built it probably won't snow again. Murphsy's law and all.
If it doesn`t snow the rest of this winter that`s ok too, there`s more winters to come.
I`ve been thinking of this for awhile and I wish I`d done it sooner.
I got a free piece of 3 ft diameter pipe 1/2 '' thick so we`re going with that, we cut into 3 to make a 9 ft blade with one 3 ft section left over.
It`s over kill but you can`t beat free........
One more day on Monday and we should have it finished.
My plasma won`t cut anything over 3/16-1/4 inch so we started out using a cutting torch which was slow going. I switched to a zip cut which was a much cleaner cut and seems abit quicker since I need a new cutting tip. I`d love to have a bigger plasma cutter but I don`t have enough use for one.
Every time my husband embarks on a new building project adventure, he comes up with some new tool he needs. But I'm onto him now! I asked him the last time if comes up with these ideas just so he can add to his collection of tools. I just got that grin guys have when the wife figures out what they are up to.
