I wonder what they paid to produce that commercial?
I wonder if the people who contribute to PETA understand that this is the kind of stuff PETA wastes their money on?
This is the mentality that keeps the endangered species act going on animals that ARE NOT endangered. Sealions/ seals by the thousands are helping to devastate whats left of our salmon runs, by congregating in the rivers MILES from the ocean and feasting on them at choke points and fish ladders all along the the pacific northwest coast. I guess seals are more valuable than salmon or sturgeon? They have tried to trap them and relocate em, but they just come back. Every time someone mentions "lethal" removal PETA is there with their entourage of lawyers and "activists" to block it. Wonder why they arent there to protect the salmon?....Oh I mean "sea kittens".
I think they did everything right. Look at the controversy it has caused. Look at how many times the ad has been run FOR FREE. It was run several times last night on FOX alone. Look at how many people are talking about the ad. All it cost PETA was production cost. They never had any intention of spending millions to get it run during the super bowl. Free publicity is what it is all about, and they achieved that goal. Smart promotional people, whoever they are.jd
