i was driving my F250 v-10 about 70 mph when it sound like i got a flat (loud slapping sound) no flat!!!!when i got pulled over and try to start my truck it is like it is frozee up any idea what it could be
Need more info! Will it turn over? What did the RPMs do during the incident? Did it die on its own or did you turn it off? Was it still making the sound at idle before it shut off? Ect....
Do you hear your starter engaging?? Sounds like you broke a rod. I am surrprised you didnt ventilate the block.
If you can get a breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt try to turn the engine, If not forward try back. If it mmoves back, when going forword again see if it feels like a sudden stop, as apposed to a bind.
Somebody dropped a couple of nuts down my sons carb on his 289. His symptoms resemble yours. The nuts made it in to the cylinder. The engine ran but made a weird sound he said. Then wouldnt turn over with the starter. I found the bolts as I pulled the top end off. They wouldnt let the piston go all the way up. While the engine was running they beat the heck out of the chamber in the head.
Maybe you sucked a valve, ???? Trying to give you other possibilities
would a timing chain do any thing that would sound like that .d Did not get to look at it yet. I will let u all know what i come up with.Thank u all for the ideas
