Front coil spring question
Front coil spring question
The question regards an '87 F150 extended cab 4x4 w/ 302:
Both of my front tires have a negative camber, they tip in. So naturally, I checked the ball joints, but they seem fine (still factory set-up), so I was wondering if over the natural course of time if the front springs had started to get weak?
Would putting new front coil springs in help my problem or should I just get new ball joints and front alignment and be done?
I'm not an alignment guy by any means, so any help would be much appreciated!
Also, the steering does not like to finish centering itself while going down the road, which is becoming an annoyance? Don't know if the two questions are related, but thought I'd throw that out there.

Yes the springs are the problem, especially if the truck has ever been plowed or carried a lot of heavy loads. There have been a few posts on springs and somebody even posted the part numbers for all the ford coil springs including the HD and F250 versions.. which will fit your truck. If you search around you may be able to find it, or maybe somebody else will come along with the info.
