On my fourth vacuum pump in two years

Thank goodness Oreilly replaces them with no questions. But what the hell is causing my vacuum pump to fail so frequently? I know it's a simple system and I've checked all my lines and repaired any damages I had. My first replacement was the reman Cardone from Oreilly which has a lifetime warranty, so that's what's been going in each time. I hate to put big money in something of better quality if there's something else causing this that could damage a better one.

need to take it apart and look inside for why it failed but could void warranty

could be dirt/oil in old lines

Maybe add on a filter next to pump to see if it catches anything?

I checked the lines for debris, but I guess it could be so minute that I wouldn't notice. I like the filter idea.

I'd do that, but if it's also going to get damaged by whatever is taking these out every few months, I'd rather fix the issue first. Hence the "what is causing it" question.

So it's not just my experience? That's good to know.
Now, the next challenge will be locating a Motorcraft part. I just did a quick search and they don't seem to be available anywhere. I heard "rumor" that the Motorcraft vacuum pumps are no longer being made. I don't typically believe every rumor I hear, so hopefully the lack of supply is simply a side effect of the crap that happened the last couple of years.

out of stock

Place i work at had issues getting Vac pumps. 5HP to 30HP ones.
Doubt it is related but shortages on parts is becoming a pain since Covid and some place have had quality issues

DAMNIIIIIT!! Well as long as Oreillys keeps honoring their lifetime warranty, I guess I can keep replacing that one until I can locate a Ford one. Haha! I mean it is only a 20 minute job.

It just stops pulling a vacuum. When you remove it, put your finger over the tube and manually spin the pulley, it doesn't suck. When you do the same thing with a brand new one, it practically gives your finger a hickey.

What brand did you get?

Just what Oreillys had Cardone . After covid it seams like a lot of junk being produced.
