Glass-Pack for Gas

I just wanted to know if having a Glass-Pack Exhaust System is bad for Gas mileage?? I think it uses more gas for some odd reason. If this is true, please reply. Or maybe it is just something else.

It can be.... it depends on the system. While this may be hard to believe, I've seen tests that have shown some glasspacks to be more restrictive than turbo mufflers. You wouldn't think this would be the case, especially with the straight-through design, but I guess they're not all created equal. There could also be other factors at work, though. There's also the foot factor..... is the sound causing you to keep your foot in it longer? It's also winter..... I don't know how cold it is where you live, but chokes tend to stay on longer, temperature sensors take longer to warm up to a point where they tell the EEC to lean out the mixture, and we do tend to let our vehicles warm up longer. Did you notice your MPG getting worse before it turned cold?
