Post diesel back pressure--small pipe

Hi,
I had a muffler shop replace my tailpipe on a 1990 7.3 diesel and they replaced it with a much smaller pipe. It has run fine, but I am wondering if it is burning properly. Is there a way to test the back pressure? Could this be lowerein performance? I took it to the ford dealership and they said that it should be fine and it passes the smog test. Any advice?
Thanks,
Derek

It should be fine, any differance in preformance that there might be you will probably never notice.

Funny how all the aftermarket performance exhaust systems use LARGER pipes.

I don't know that much about the v8 diesel, but on our farm tractors, and semi tractors we try to go with as big of a pipe as we can. It helps power and also lets the engine and turbo run cooler.
