Hey guys I am having problems with my reverse sensors in my 06' KR F-250. When it is cold like tonight (10 degrees) my reverse sensors won't work and the off button just flashes irratically. Once it warms up outside they seem to work fine. Any idea were to look for the problem?
The sensors should use radio Freq like sonar. You shouldn't be experiencing any issues with the sensors. I would start by disconnecting all of the plugs associated with the sensors, spray them with wd40 if it's your only choice, but a dielectric grease would be preferable. White Lithium works decently, but you can find regular dielectric grease in most auto parts places.
This will keep moisture out of the connections. I am thinking you have water (or just moisture) in the plugs and it's shorting out the sensors causing a fault.
some times when its cold my reverse sensors tend to either squeel as soon as i put it in reverse (even if theres nothing remotely close) other times they wont let out a peep..
but ive never had the dash button flash thou..
has to be really cold thou.. 95% of the time they work perfectly...
