Toyota Squeal
2000 Toyota 4runner I believe, RWD 4cyl. Just had the belts replaced 2 months ago and when started, they squeal louder than a newborn for about 10 second then shuts off. 1) is it an automatic tensioner or manual? 2) could it also be a pulley/bearing on a/c p/s or something. The three options I see are belt lube, possible pulley/bearing, or belts are too tight. Thanks for the help guys. TEX

Cheap belts. I had the same thing happen on an old Dodge Dart.
Cheap, cheap belts.
Replaced with good belts, squealing stopped.
Water pump bearings.
Alternator bearings.
Most are tensioned independently with a long adjustment bolt. They require an initial tension, then a readjustment after 2-300 miles.
