When its cold, 3 hours isn't enough. I've had my truck plugged in for 4 hours before when it was cold out and it still was not happy when it started. I plug mine in over night whenever I can now. You do need to make sure your cord is in good condition though, they have led to fires in some cases.

Yeah, I was thinking about some of the other threads on this where some say they plug in three hours before starting up. Mine has always been plugged in for more than three hours at a time. And even if three hours was enough, I like sleeping too much to get up and go plug in that early. I'll take the hit on the power bill to plug in at night. And ditto on the fires, We had an ambulance years ago that did that. Middle of the night it caught on fire and burned the ambulance and about half of the building.
