I spent quite a bit of time looking for a truck and searched all the dealers within a 75 mile radias of my home town. I was looking for a 04-05 f150 lariat. Every dealer I walked into was asking between $16k and $19k for this truck and the average odometer reading was about 90k, then about 2 weeks ago I was on carsoup.com and I found a truck that matched what I was looking for and they were only asking $11k. The miles were a little higher at about 121k but the bigest thing was it was 5 hours away from my town, after a 5 hour trip and 2 hours spent looking over the truck I decided to take it in to the ford dealer to have it examined before I bought it. Once the dealers mechanics stated they could not find anything wrong with the truck I made the purchase and drove it 5 hours home. The following day I took it in to my local dealer and had them examine the truck 100% and they too stated they could not find anything wrong with it. So the moral of my story is dont just settle. Keep looking and you will find a good deal on a truck for your brother. I am sure if you save your brother $5000 - $8000 he too would be willing to drive a little further.
