302 backfire issue

302 backfire issue
i've got a '90 302 out of an f250 in a 83 jeep cj8. transplanted engine computer and wiring harness. edlbroc performer heads, comp roller cam and rockers. been through valve adjustment several times and checks good everytime. compression is a solid 150 on all 8. truck seems to run fine with the exception of exhaust backfire and intake backfire on heavy acceleration. also hesitation from take off under heavy accelleration. oddly engine seems to run ok w/ map unplugged however tested w/ a known good map and no change.
