replacement motor information
hi ,i have been looking for a 4.2 for my 99 f150 and getting a lot of different information from wrecking yards in the brantford ontario area,one says it has to be a 98 to 99 another says 99 to 2000 and the latest one who has a good motor from a 98 van says only 99 to 2003,what is the difference between motors,i was planing in putting my intake on whatever motor i get just so i know it will hook back up with no problems and to make sure i dont have a hydrolock problem,but are there other differences like exhaust manifolds,front harmonic ballancer and pulley,bolt holes where they are supposed to be like motor mounts,bell housing,flex plate bolt holes and on and on,if someone can just tell me clearly this year fits or these years fit but you have to swap these parts for it to work it would make my life alot easier,the last thing i want to do is lay out good money and get a motor thats not going to work,and if anybody in my area knows where there is a good motor please let me know,thanks in advance,Chris
