lately when the truck sits for a day its hard to start. i hear the fuel pump prime, crank it and it just cranks.. after a few attempts it starts.. today after sitting all day sunday, it just turned over but nothing. finally it started but it didnt idle high, like the choke wasnt working.. but the main concern is the starting..
forgot to say its a 95 302,, today all day it started good after this morning.. got home the temps dropped, sitting for 3 hrs and it took 3 trys to start it..
You didn't say where you are located, but if it's cold it could be a fuel volatility problem. Try getting fuel from a different supplier.
Also, if your engine coolant temp sensor is giving false readings the computer may believe the engine is warm when you are trying to start it. This would cause the air/fuel ratio to be off among other things. You need to run an EEC test.
Will the engine start if you put the accelerator to the floor?
PS: Your engine is fuel injected, it doesn't have a choke.
located in north carolina.. its been cold here emps in the morn mid 30.. sometimes lower.. no i tried starting with pedal to the floor, no go.. i'll take it to run a EEC test..
