I am just wondering if a 285/55R20 AT tire will fit with the stock wheels and stock suspension? How about a 275/60R20 AT? If anyone has any pics with this combo or with a bigger tire with stock wheels and suspension please post up!
The stock 20" tire is a 275/55-20 so as you can see by the figures below there is not much difference in tire size. I have been told and seen that a 33" tire will fit without any modification to the truck on an 04-08. You might have a little tire rub with a MT but I doubt it with an AT. You might want to put a leveling kit on just to be safe they are cheap and easy to install.
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile
275/55-20 6.0in 16.0in 31.9in 100.2in 632
285/55-20 6.2in 16.2in 32.3in 101.6in 624
275/60-20 6.5in 16.5in 33.0in 103.6in 611
Thanks for the input. I have not seen any 33 inch tires on a 2009 yet. I guess I might be the first in my area. Are there any disadvantages to the leveling kit? I know that there is higher cv angles and more stress on the ball joints but how high can you go without any problems. Is the two inch max height and at full suspension droop is there any cv shaft bind. What kit would everyone sugest.
