Not hrottle when cold...?
Just like the title says, (even though there is SUPPOSED to be a "T" in front of "hrottle")when it is really cold (15 or less (aprox)), I will start my truck. When I give it any throttle, its like Im not touching the pedal at all. This only happens when I start it when it is stone cold. I never have any problems any other time. I am wondering if this is built into the ECM to prevent damage from running hard while cold?

Nope, no such thing. I have never seen it, though the coldest I have ever started the truck is about -5F.

What do you mean? The first 5 seconds? My throttle worked when I had the romps. As soon as it started, my pedal worked. Is my truck an exception? To this day I can rev it within seconds of starting if I want to.
OK, I reread his post. If we are talking about the way there is no throttle when cranking/starting, I might go for that, though I have not tried that either.

it will not respond because the oil is too cold.
if it is this cold, you probably should let her warm up before driving.
I had my truck at work once, and it was -35 with 90km/h gusts, and even with the block heater, and cycling the plugs a few times, she barely started, then it was 2 minutes before the throttle even made any difference.
In fact, it was so cold, that on the way home, i went down a hill and let off the throttle as to maintain speed, and at the bottom, my temp guage was almost bottomed out.
Moral of story= if it doesnt want to drive, dont force it.

I use custom Cardboard and a bungi (on the grill) to help keep my engine warmer while driving.
but my truck wont even start below 20 deg if not plugged in for at least 4 hours.
and our high this weekend I think is 5 above. all is good once started though
But always let her warm up a bit cause not much like to work at that cold temps.

The problem is that our engines make F-ALL for heat, but then you put the fuel to em and they heat up like crazy.
