I remember seeing a post here not too long ago someone heard a loud bang like they ran something over but didnt.

I had the same thing happen to me tonight. pulled over to check things out and did not see anything
Any idea's or is this one of those it's normal thing from the dpf

The only thing that happed differntly than normal I was waiting for a car wash and was idling for a little while

haven't heard this at all from anyone. dpf is not suppose to make any sounds. most that you would ever see is some smoke during a cleaning and that is rare.

The only thing I have seen is cac tubes getting blown off causing a bang. You can tell when that happens as you will have no power afterwards.

Great! So far no problems with it. Just getting used to the regen thing and the trucks general personality so to speak.

No loss in power that I could tell, just sounded like a shot gun outside but coming from under the truck middle to rear maybe

Thinking back it wasn't up front so much, that's why I was associating it with exhaust but really no idea

Thats funny the samething happened to me the other night, just got back from a 400 mile run out in PA stopped by my buddies house and the truck was off for an hour. Went out started it up idled for a min then drove back out his long steep driveway, when I got to the top I heard a bang like I ran something over, got out and nothing was there. Truck ran great the 15 miles or so home. Strange any one else experience this the temp was 18 degrees and nothing is leaking or apparently loose under the vehicle.

Interesting, I don't recall seeing anything around where I live other than ulsd

Ok, but I haven't, and it's only one pop like a shotgun

Just throwing this out there....Could it be ice in any of the suspension parts breaking loose. I havent witnessed this.

I don't think so, I've owned trucks for years and never heard this before
This just happens to be the first PSD I've owned.

I had my gearbox go out on my 08 F250 SD....YES...there was a bang.
There was also some play in the steering wheel...The bang was loud enough...that I pulled to the side of the road to look the truck over
it almost sounded like a blowout...

Smoke 2008 Did the truck run any differently, mine appears fine. The only thing I notice when manovering in a tight parkinglot when turing the wheel quickly from one direction to another it seems like there is a small amount of slop or looseness in the wheel.
