About a month ago my truck left me on the side of the road with a bad knock and blowing lots of white smoke. Turned out to be 4 injectors didn't seat right adn were blowing compression. So I replaced those nozzels and put new o rings on all 8.
Started it up and everything seemed normal for just having injectors pulled. Went down the road and as soon as I got in it a little it started running rough and blowing white smoke like before. I backed off and tried it again and it went away but truck ran rough from 1000-1500 but smothed out in higher rpm so i figured had some air in HP system still. After about 15miles the truck hickuped and blew a big plum of coal black smoke, made a raddle noise like something was in the exhaust and died and wont start.
Any ideas? tack moves when cranking and sounds like i get some fire when cranking
when that injector came loose it might have worn out the injector sleeve. pull out the injector that came loose and inspect the injector sleeve for a crack or worn spot. might accually want to check all the sleeves and o-rings again.
i just had this happen with my 97, and i can show you a pic of the tool i used to pull the sleeve out with if you need to do it.
my .02 cents

I don't think u have to pull the heads u just need some special tools to pull and reinstall the cups. Someone on the forum made a set and I think he loans them out to members IIRC just pay for shipping.
Finally figured something out today. Broke down and sent it to a shop. Mechanic said one of injectors is squirting oil so gonna send it back i guess and see if that does the trick. Said had a cam sensor code in ot also not sure what that was from
