I think it is about 8 quarts if you just drain the pan, which is only about 1/2 of the full 17.5 qts that the system holds. The TC does not have a drain plug.
You must use Mercon SP, only available from Ford. Do not substitute.
The external filter is really small and the fluid in it is insignificant.
