shorter=louder for glasspacks?
it depends. it will be louder, but it will have that crackle. i've seen longer glasspacks that get just as loud, but they put out that deep low moan(the kind that makes the hair on you neck stand up). I'de go with the longer glasspack, but run a straight pipe without Cats. It will sound better...i think

Oh yeah it'll be a straitpipe.... actuall it'll be the glasspack welded on to the end of the header and a turndown on the end of the glasspack. One off each header and that's my exhaust! And the truck this will HOPEFULLY be going into is a '72 F-100 shortbox with a 428. I'm going to look at the truck on saturday I can't wait.

Yes, shorter is louder...and shorter is also more "high pitched". On my F-150 I have true duals with 12" glasspacks. I pulled along someone with straight pipes and could not tell any difference between the two....
