She quit on me

Driving home yesterday, 2 minutes into my trip my 00 X just quits cold. No sputtering - like you turned off. It restarted once then not again that night. Today I got it started right away but again after 2 minutes it quit and won't restart. I waited a few hours and same thing. I've got fuel to the filter bowl. Oil level normal. I did have it in to the dealer last month for other work and they did the CPS recall/upgrade. Is this a symptom of a bad CPS? I don't have a spare to try. I can't tell which color it is.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Craig

Is the tachometer moving when you crank it.

Need more info. Does the tach move while cranking as Tracy asked? What does the wait to start light do when you turn the key on?

Just checked. No start - no tach. WTS comes on initially as normal, goes out in 15 seconds, stays off while cranking.

Yep that would be the problem CPS...............
Like Chris said the new ones are around 25 bucks.

Edit: Since it has not been that long since you had the recall they may give you a new if you go to the dealer that put it in.

Thanks for the offer Brad. I've got the luxury of time as I have another vehicle as my daily driver. I may try the dealer for a replacement. It was just Christmas when it went in. Although I will probably get another gray. DP doesn;t have any listed on their site nor does eBay. Any other dealers have black ones?

Sweet looking Ex by the way! I love the blacked out look on anything. The wheels and bumper and grill set it off nicely!

I sent a friend of mine to IH for a CPS, they gave him a blue one, the same kind I got when I went there! He asked if they have a black one, they said they only ever sold the blue ones, they have sold many of them since the black ones from ford were junk!
