i just did the brakes on my 98 expy and found the passenger side shot! the inside pad was just about metal and the outside was real low. the drivers side looked brand new like i just put them on. the last time i did the brakes was about 4 months ago. what gives? why is it wearing down on the pass side and not the driver side?
It sounds like you have a frozen caliper. Do not rule out the brake hose. Most of the brake hoses have a hose within a hose. If you have a leak between the layers it can prevent the fluid returning to the master cylinder from the caliper when releasing the brakes. I had a brake system on a Ford Taurus that drove me nuts for a few years and it turned out to be brake hoses.
It seems like the problem would be on the driver side as that caliper isn't working. A frequent cause of this is when the mechanic uses vise grips to pinch the hose to prevent leaking when doing the brake caliper. It dosen't always happen but it does often enough that most replacement caliper instructions advise against such methods.
I would guess that since you just put new breaks on 4 months ago and the right side is already to metal that all of your problems are on that corner of the vehicle. Sounds liek brake fluid not being able to get back out of the system. You should have noticed alot of heat and the vehicle wanting to drag to that side if they really wore out that quickly though
