I have a 6l 2003 f350 and was wondering if anyone can tell me what wattage the blocker would be and how much power it uses if pluged in overnight.
I couldn't tell ya the wattage or how much it effects the monthly power bill, but lately mine has been plugged in all night long. We've had temps dipping to negative 13 for several days straight last week and the week before. Last week at work I didn't plug in with temps only hitting 2 above for a high and she barely started. Once she did, I though the PSD was about to jump out from the hood!
I also have a timer, but with extreme temps, I just leave her plugged in. If not, then I have the timer kick on about 2-3 hours before i know I'm leaving for work in the morning.
I haven't seen anything drastic on my power bill from this....
I asked the same question a year ago, and from memory it was 1 amp draw for 100 watts. And I think the heater is 1000 to 1200 watts. This is not exact, and I am sure a better answer will follow. Just trying to help. My answer is close.
i'm pretty sure anywher between 1000-1500 watts. think about it thats like leaving 10-15 100 watt light bulbs on all night. when i had my diesel i put it on a timer.
I was fooling around and looked back over a year. Here is one answer that is also believable: "The heater only draws 1400W for the first few seconds until the element warms up. By 1 minute the draw is down around 1000W."
I checked mine a couple of days ago...8 amps @ 120v= 960 watts, call it 1,000watts (1Kw).
Power in western PA averages $0.117/kwh.
Assume you plug in for 8 hours at 1Kw x $0.117=$0.94 per 8 hours.
From what I can gather 1000 watts is the consensus. Good price with battery blanket included. https://www.bowenscarff-fordparts.co...oducts_id/1026
