I have a '99 F250 SD, 4WD. Manuf. date is 9/98 and it has the front hubs with 10mm flange thickness. I am having a hard time finding a replacement. Does anyone happen to know the part number for this thing? I guess I should mention also it is rear wheel ABS only.
I just ordered a Timken setup from an online store and when I got it, it only had 3 mounting holes!! Good grief, I suppose it's for the light duty 3/4 Ford. I think that part number was 515022.
O.k., I'm finding that the hub assemblies available for my truck which was built prior to 3/22/99 are $500 each on average. Front hub assemblies for trucks built after 3/22/99 are $250 each on average. Can anyone explain the difference between them? What changed? And, can I use the newer (less expensive) hub assembly on my truck?
Thanks, and yes I have looked at the Dynatrac conversion kit but not sure if I want to sink that much into it yet ($2000)
Hey thanks for the info there. Internet has been out for a few days due to the nice little ice storm we had. Starting to lean toward the Dynatrac conversion now. I can't see spending $750 + to do one side then most likely the other side soon..then end up with the same poorly designed hubs that I started with.
Yes, I suppose you're right about the design but I still prefer to be able to repair rather than to replace the entire assembly. By the way, the truck has 260K + on it....heck they may be the original hubs.
I did check out the Federal Mogul site and I can't see any difference either. I ended up at Timken's website and (sorry I don't have the link now) they are showing the part number as HA590132 and as a "new item". I did an "aftermarket part search" if you're interested in finding that. They don't show that 515076 Timken number for my application.
