Dana 44 questions...
I have a LP D44 out of a '76 F250. I am wondering if I were to swap from the outer knuckle out with a '79 D44 would I be able to use the stock '76 axle shafts or the '79 axle shafts? Would it work at all? They both use the same spindle, ball joints and wheel bearings, and I know the axle shafts are different lengths, but if I remember correctly, not by much. The '76 hub has an external locking hub and the '79 has an internal. That might be the reason for the '79's slightly longer stubs...
