I made a quick $800 on about $2000 in about 6 weeks time in oct/nov last year. Easy money, so with the stock down again...(below 2) I'm thinking of doing it again.
Actually, it did it again in dec but I missed that one. Not this time.
Easy money.
Ive got like $5k sitting around in a newly formed IRA... I should watch F and buy in. I truly believe they are the best off now, and have the direction and product mix to be the best going forward.
I've been waiting for it to dip under $2 again. MY dad bought at something like $1.76 and it went up to over $3 after that.
BTW where are the chicken little's that swore Ford wouldn't exist after December of '08?
me. I didnt swear they would, but I did say after they post 4Q results later today (or is it next friday?) they close down or sell out and are no longer independant.

So, over there at Treasury, your primary tool is a calculator or a gun?

Uh huh...that's not what I recall....it was your usual doom and gloom forecast stating that Ford would close down.
EDIT: I see your actual post above...so what's your excuse now?
Today: Ford is in a far better position than GM or ChryCo with 19.8 billion dollars in automotive cash.
Yes, it's borrowed money, but with credit so tight, GM and ChryCo couldn't borrow a cent and had to go ask the Gov't for bailout money.
Ford did not ask for or receive bailout funds from the Gov't.
By the end of March, GM and ChryCo have to come up with a workable plan to dig themselves oughtta the hole.
Can they do it? I doubt it...so mebbe President Obama will give them the money they need to stay solvent.
And that's exactly what GM & ChryCo will do with the money, because both are burning through over ONE BILLION DOLLARS A MONTH!
If u need a feel-good story about Ford... I just saw a brand new Ford Focus..it was sporty with aluminum wheels..It was really nice-looking. That is a good sign, for u investors. Hopefully people can get credit to buy these cars.
Stocks can't go up, until these banks start letting go of the taxpayers cash

I'd only invest money I could stand to lose in F. If it's $2 and it goes to 1.50, you've lost 25% of your money.
IMO I'd put that much into something that is more of a sure thing. I bought General Cable (BGC) and I'm down a little right now, but it was up around $23. I'll buy more now that it's low.
Ford isn't an investment right now, it's more of a bet. Maybe you'll win big, maybe you'll lose. I'm down right now on Ford as well, but I only used a $50 bonus that sharebuilder gave me. You're better off going to the casino and betting red or black all night. At least you might get some free drinks or a hotel room.
I buy at $1.8......It's already at $2.04.....I'm makin money already.
IT'S GOING UP RIGHT NOW AND WILL GO UP EVEN MORE when president hussine(spell) passes his stimilus plan.
This is the BEST stock going right now for making a quick $1k.
my numbers policy comes from listening to the real experts who walk these halls for the last 4 years and I have learned one thing: we need to automatically distrust and ignore anyone who grabs the mic in front of the tv cameras willingly, to give their take.
we are in the worlds biggest bloodbath and its getting worse.
(and to return on topic, an item came up at a lunch table: by Mulally outright rejecting the low cost federal loans, sticking with the private ones...(he should have taken the feds to pay off the private) he is costing ford a couple billion dollars in INTEREST ALONE this year and last - each year. Plus the brand is in play.
