My truck developed a ticking sound tonight on the way home and I thought it was the gasket at the engine but it seems after laying under it the leak is at where the collector (?) bolts to the headers.
I can feel the air pushing out consistent with the noise.
So - do they make heavy duty gaskets? I just had the collectors replaced about 6 months ago and I don't push this truck hard at all. Any advice, tips, etc?
Oh - also, it just doesn't look like the collector and header flange are flush - maybe a little warped - anyone ever heard of this happening and if so, do I need to replace them or just use a better gasket?
Thanks
This might solve your problem go to www.truckstv.com and look in their truck gear area for their march 16 show they have a collector setup thats looks like it might work
