Help me out here.

Ok on my 01 F-150 I had put on flowmaster 50 series muffler single into duel on my own....I had left the muffler sitting maybe 1.5 feet from the rear axle. Man that thing sounded sweet it would bring tears to a grown mans eyes. Anywho I took the truck to midas yesterday to have the pipes bent out the back....$260 bucks anywho after I started it up with the exhaust complete it sounded as quiet as the stock system what gives ? now when you stand behind the truck when its driving it is still really quiet. Is there anything I can do ? I mean this is QUIET !!!! looks nice sounds like Shiot ! I could almost cry from spending so much and getting no agressive sound....atleast it was agressive untill I had midas bend the pipes out the back.

I know you don't want to hear this, because Flowmasters don't grow on trees. I would replace the Flowmaster with a straight pipe. It would sound sweet with just the cats. Add some tips like thewiz427 suggested (large diameter), and the sound will get deeper and more "truck" like.

No tips yet. I dont think straight pipe will pass inspection in this city (charlotte nc ) And its not me who always drives it...its my g/f's truck that I bought for her to drive to work. She wanted it to sound like it did before I had the pipes bent out....but she wants the look of those nice tips comming out the corners of the bumper. She liked the sound of it straight piped...but it is to much constant noise.

Your right the strait pipe would fail inspection but the tip's will bring back a little bit of the sound and i have been told that flowmasters improve with age.

Help me out here.

They just bent the pipes? I've had problems with Meineke when they replaced the pipes because they were rusted, they put 2 1/4 pipes on from the mufflers back, when I had 3 inchers.. I was pissed!!!!!
