There are two wires on the coil, one has a constant state and the other changes. You can test for the right one using a DMM set on the VAC (volts AC). The right wire will show increasing VAC as the motor revs. This wire probably doesn't have to be connected for the RS to start (turn the engine over), just to stop the starter from turning once it's running and prevent trying again every few seconds.
There are a couple of wires you want to find in the column for the RS. Starter and IGN are the two most necessary. If the kit has an external relay for the start kill/anti-grind, you need to pay attention to which side goes to the column half of the wire and which to the vehicle half of the wire (this wire should be cut for the kill to work.) With the starter and ign wires energized the vehicle will start.
I picked out the tech sheet for a F-series, ranger or excursion or anything else may be different. And anything other than a superduty has a high probability of needing a PATS bypass.
Yes, it is a newer code RS.
Im using the wiring diagram for the '02/'03 Expedition/Navigator from this link. (one of the Ford techs on here hooked it up with the Ford instillation instructions) and I've got almost eveything connected except A-12, A-11, A-9, and A-24 of the Driver's side kick panel harness.
This thing has really got me thinking... thanks for the assistance brothers...
