Looking for washer pump info.....

Hello all,
Thanks again for all the help this forum has provided me already! Since I now have the time to chase down some small repair issues, I need some more info on a washer pump problem.
B4 I posted this, I searched what posts I could find, but I couldn't find details on this. I knew that my pump was shot and when I pulled it out, it fell apart. So that was $ well spent there. But now, when I check the voltage to it, I get a dim light using a testlight and only 10+ volts w/ a multi-meter. I did the 'jumper' test, running it directly off the batttery and it worked fine. Do you think I'm looking @ an issue w/ the swtich that running the wipers(which DO work when I pull the handle for the washer) or is there a 'relay' that might be going bad? The pump did fire up just once for a second, then nothing. Any info would be a great help.......W/ all the snow I really NEED to get this washer working. Thanks again......

Could be the multi-function switch or a wiring issue. I would check the connection(s) to the wiper/washer switch and check continuity between there and the fuse block / washer pump. I would also check continuity of the switch with the wiring disconnected / connected when it is actuated. It would be best to use a wiring diagram for your particular year / model truck.
