It has plenty of fluid, however the clutch pedal has no resistance until you get about 1 inch from the floor. No warning behavior... Just got in this morning and, no clutch.
Mine does that every time the temp gets below freezing......then when it gets into the mid-30's, like yesterday, the pedal's back up to where it should be.
But I can see fluid leak out of the bell-housing (mine's internal, lucky me) and the seal gets stiff/brittle and leaks, even though the fluid has stayed up lately, the pedal clutch still engages just barely off the floor, and sometimes not enough room to disengage and it grinds from 1st to reverse.
I'll wait till spring and it'll fix itself in the warm weather, or I'll hafta pull the tranny to get to the slave cylinder, and fix it good.
Waynaferd, thank you! It is about 10 degrees F here, and the symptoms are exactly the same. We topped off the fluid and pumped the clutch for about 10 minutes and things popped back to normal. We didn't see any leaks, but will keep an eye on it. SO RELIEVED that someone else has had the exact same problem. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the cold.
