cat question

hey im the same guy who was askin in another post about a vortex cherrybomb muffler. would cuttin the long cat out make it deeper but keepin the 1st cat in. i had a friend wantin to take the Y pipe that we will take out for the muffler and put that in place of the first cat. it didnt make sence to me of why i would do that. so then i would have a Y from the manifold into a 3" pipe then the vortex and that would slit out into two 2 1/2 pipes. and from there it would go into 4" tips. Right now i have a hole where we started to cut and the blade broke off the grinder and we had to quit. it sounds like ##### right now. i want a deep tone is what i want.

thanks
glen

cat question

When i cut off the second cat it made all the sound differende on my 302. Its really deep and nice sounding. I just put on a y pipe and straight pipes. Its not so loud that it is annoying. I cant hear it on the highway with the radio off, because all the sound is out the back. Ying the pipes into one cat and 3inch pipe and then Ying it back out equalizes the motor and makes it run better. It also mellows out the tone to make it nice sounding. I wouldnt recommend putting a meffler on unless state laws say you have to, you will be dissapointed. Definatly put the tips on. Tips make the tone alot better especially if they are long and big in diameter. Well hope this helps
