Ford Ranchero
There is a local long time owner that is doing an excellent job of restoring a surprisingly low rust 57 Ranchero. That`s rare very to find that around here.
The usual rust problem existed even tho it was sold new in SoCal.
The caulk had worn away, the floor underneath the bed was a rusty mess.
I found a wagon in a wrecking yard, my body man cut out its floor, welded it into the Ranchero.
I later sold the Ranchero to actress Melissa Gilbert. She has since sold it, and it's still around today, as I passed it one day on the freeway last year.
How did I know it's the same one? The same black CA license plates it's had since 1963 are still on it.

Col Flashman and I went to look at a '65 Falcon Ranchero last year...I warned him about the rust.
When we looked at it, it didn't look too bad, that is till I lifted the front floor mat.
What did I see? The asphalt street where it was parked.
I can just imagine what was under that bed floor!
It`s neat that in CA and I imagine in the rest of the USA, that the original plates remain with the vehicle, here each new owner puts on their own plate.
