This past weekend I decided to try to find out why my backup lights don't work so I unplugged the neutral safety switch from the main harness and probbed around in the plug. It was getting late so that was that but now today I went out to start it to come to work and nothing... Now on my way to work I kept thinking why it wouldn't start and remembered that I did not plug the neutral safety switch back in so would that keep it from starting??
The NSS closes power to the key which then runs to the 'S' post of the starter solenoid. Without it connected, it won't start.
Or just plug it in and see...
Yep... I feel dumb! Just go home from work and popped the hood, plugged it back in and VROOM. Started right up.
I just don't get my backup lights though. I bought a new neutral safetly switch and the backup lights worked for a while and now they don't. The switch is working for one just what I did and two it won't start unless in neutral or park. It's wired with the wipers which work so I don't know. Any ideas??
