I have replaced the rubber fuel line on my truck. I still have all of the factory hard line in place. I have replaced the fuel filters. I have replaced the clamps with hose clamps. I have a new fuel pump. I have a new carb.
I STILL HAVE GAS!!
There is an odor of fuel around my truck when I get out of it. There are no leaks that I can find. It makes no difference if the tanks are full or empty. My plugs are not fouled and the truck runs great. Any ideas.
my 78 had the same problem it was the "roll over " valve on top of the gas tank the rubber seal around it was old and brittle i replaced it and it was fixed no more gasy smell
It is actually around the entire truck. I notice it stronger under the drivers rear wheel well. I thought it was a seal on top of the gas tank. It just doesn't matter which tank is full or empty.
a leak on the tank will leave a stain if its actually leaking liquid and not just vapor, I suggest crawling around under there with a flashlight and look for stains. Good chance its the tank itself.

What is the rollover valve? Is it the overflow line? Thanks for any help.

My tank does have tiny bits of rust coming through, Hence multiple fuel filters. I will look for stains. Thanks for the help.
The rear tank might be rusting away at the top and not leaking fuel when it is sitting still but when you fill it and drive it would and you would smell it after you parked.
