I bought a Rancho dual stabilizer kit today ! Told them I was looking for a kit that mounts up behind the tie rod... not below it like the stock one does ! So I got it today and it mounts below where the stock one does !
Does anyone know if there is one that mounts up higher behind the tie rod ??? And if so .... who makes it ????
Icon Vehicle Dynamics offers one....kind of what you are looking for.
With the Icon setup, one mounts directly in front and another mounts directly behind the tie rod. Both are inline with the tie rod.
Thats kind of what I'm looking for ! That system would be around $600 by the time I added shocks and exchange and shipping !! Might be a bit over that actually ! I got the rancho kit for $185 with shocks and all ! Retails for $300 or so... Is there any others that you can think of that would mount up high.... The others just hang to darn low and I smash them off all the time !! either that or I'm going to leave it right off completely !
Hmmmm... I don't have much trouble with my steering, nor do I go offroad that much or need the extra clearance. Could I get just 1 of the 8" lift Bilstein 5100s (an option with the Icon kit) or some other 5100 to go in place of my stock steering stabilizer? I just put 5100s at the 4 corners and it'd be nice to have things match. But $400 when I don't have steering problems or clearance issues is a bit high for me.
To run a nitrogen charged shock as a stabilizer you need to run duals in an opposed setup otherwise a single will always slightly be pushing the steering.
