Personally I harrass them as much as possible when they call.

I like to ask them their name, and home phone #, all sorts of personal info, and just be rude and say whatever is on my mind.
I just continue on doing whatever it was I was doing the whole time, so I am still getting stuff done.

If too busy to do that, I tell them to please hold on for a bit, and then set the phone down and walk away.
Usually when I come back later, they have hung up.

I hate telemarketers so I **** them off, for pissing me off by calling me in the first place.

It's called the Telezapper. I think Radio Shack sells them.

If its a female tele marketer, I always ask,"what are you wearing right now?, Im not wearing anything!" then proceed to go down hill from there. They never call back, male telemarketers......I just tell them to get a real job.

I try to be as rude as I possibly can. I start by asking if they speak English. Also interrupt their speech as much as possible, ask them to spell everything, call them a liar.

since i signed up with the do not call registry, i have only gotten a few telecalls. and those, i tell rite off the bat that i have caller id, and am going to report them. then i do. they never call back after that.
when i get the ones that say we do not have to play by the do not call list rules, i tell them to go have sexual relations with themselves, and continue to tell them to have sexual relations with themselves till they hang up on me.

Best way to have them delete your name is to tell them you are dead. I do it all the time, and they never call back. When they ask " Is this Mr._________ " I say yes, then say I am sorry but the person you are looking for has died. Evidentally they do not pay attention to the beginning of the conversation, but they do not call back.

All the telezapper things do is make a disconnected line tone for a second or two when you answer the phone. This will make the telemarketer bot think the line is disconnected and theoretically takes your number off the list. I borrowed one for a while and it was more of a PITA waiting for that tone to end than it was worth. Since the do not call list came out I get very very few calls from people I do not do business with, if you do do any business with them then they still can call you.

I don't get as many calls now that we're on don't call, but I still hate the ones I get. I just usually say no thanks to all of them and hang up. However, some companies seem to keep calling back until you go through their deal.

Much as I do dislike the calls, I'd like to reach up a little higher than the actual caller. A lot of them are young kids just trying to make a few bucks.

What I'd really like to have would be the phone numbers of Mr/Ms telemarketing CEO and other upper management. See how they like getting calls that "will just take a minute and could save you hundreds" or whatever.

Probably I'd make a few of those calls between 1 and 3 am

Being the owner of a telemarketing firm, I would like to thank all of you for providing me with a lot of training material for my next group of trainees......J/K please don't shoot.

I get very few calls at home as I am on the do not call list and never give out that number to any one but family and friends. The few I do get I tell them I am on the do not call list and remove me from your list and then hang up. I had one tell me they were a survey and it didn't apply to them, I told them to remove me any way and hung up.

At my office they do not care what you say, they will call right back as soon as you hang up. We have had them call back to back on every number we have. It's enough to drive you crazy.

I came up with a plan.

I told the girls that from now on when a telemarketer calls they need to speak to Susie Carpenter, tell them to hold on and she will be right with them, put them on hold and forget them for about 5 minutes. They are never there when you go back to that line. We now have them calling asking to speak to Susie Carpenter. I do not know where Susie actually works but, she is doing a wonderful job for us. The name was just pulled out of the air, I do not know anyone by that name in real life.

It may not be the most effective way, but it is fun to have a little payback.
