hello guys...havent been here i a while...got the injector problem fixed....everything works great.....now while driving back from the city.the dash went out....no gauges...speedometer....no tac....banged on the dash.....didnt come back on...been having this problem for a while but it always came back on....now no luck......talked to a guy and said maybe a cracked circuit board.....is this possible and a common thing with the 1999 ford f-350s???
There is a fuse that runs the gauge cluster as well, can't remember what it is tied into, but check that as well. I recall it would blow when the OD button would short out in the column.
thanks for that....i will check out the fuses....the od on the column shifter is still working fine...there is so much stuff under that dash...i am lucky to get my hand in there...i was thinking maybe a lose connector for that circuit panel....a fuse would be too easy.....thanks again
cangim...i checked all the fuses...under the dash and under the hood..all checked out good..looked in manual...said #19 and #2...both checked good....also the od is working...do you thing its a relay or something else??...truck starts...goes down the road fine....everything else ok ...just all the gauges dont work plus speedometer and tac out....i am really stumped....should i start ripping open the dash??

thanks for any help

No, not yet anyway. Give it some time for someone else to see the post and reply. It may be more simple than you think.
Cracked dash circuit board? I don't know how this could happen, and I doubt it, but hang in there. The PCM is seeing what it needs to run the truck. This includes RPMs and speed. The signals just aren't getting to the cluster.
If the connection appears good, you need to verify voltage at the harness, Use a wiring diagram for your truck with KEOO. This is for a 2001:
<table border="1" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" rules="groups" width="96%"><tbody> <tr valign="top"> <td valign="top"> Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster harness side and ground as follows:
<table border="1" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" rules="groups" width="96%"><tbody> <tr valign="top"><td valign="top"> Measure the resistance between instrument cluster C250b pin 5, circuit 676 (PK/OG), harness side and ground (except Motorhome); or between instrument cluster C250b pin 12, circuit 1203 (BK/LB), harness side and ground (Motorhome only).
</td></tr> <tr valign="top"> <td>

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes VERIFY the instrument cluster printed circuit connector is fully seated. If so, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster in this section. TEST the system for normal operation.
No REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
