We are trying to install a Pioneer head unit in my sons truck. The adapter plug they sold us at Circuit City does not match the factory speaker plug on the truck.I can make the power plug work so I still need to know if there is anyone who knows where to find the adapter plug for the audio plug.I really do not want to cut and splice into the speaker wires in the truck harness. But if I cannot find an adapter plug I will have to carefully tap into the trucks wires to hook up the eight speaker wires which brings me to my next question. There are about eighteen wires coming into the audio plug in the truck harness, none of the wires match the wire colors at the speakers where they plug into the speakers. Why do the color of the wires change between the plug and the speaker location?I need to know which eight wires in the truck harness are for the speakers and which ones pair together for front right, left and rear right, left. Also need to know which color -stripe wire is the positive wire at each of the speakers? Thanks for any help.
Here are all the wire colors at the speakers.
L-Front=Blue with white stripe
Orange with tan stripe
R-Front=Green With orange stripe
White with green stripe
L-Rear=Grey with blue stripe
Tan with yellow stripe
R-Rear=Brown with pink stripe, could be orange stripe
Orange with red stripe
Here are the colors at the plug starting with the top
left to right then bottom left to right
Top-Tan,Blue,Purple with white stripe,Brown,White with red stripe,Green
with black stripe,Orange with black stripe,Grey.
Bottom-Blue with pink stripe, yellow,Blue with black stripe,White with
orange stripe,Green,Black,Green with brown stripe,Purple.
Here's the wiring info for your vehicle that I got from a car stereo installation site. There appears to be a mistake on this though, They list the Orange/Light Green as being the color for both the + and - for the left front speakers. Ill see if I can't find which is which. You can find the right adapter plug at Crutchfield. http://www.crutchfield.com/g_103000/...s.html?tp=2977
