I have a f150, 4x4 . 4.6, with an aod trans and electric shift transfer case, this past summer i had to swap out the following trans/transfer case. since then i can only drive 60 klmph as the speedo says i'm going 160. i am going to assume the following
the computer is going to need reprogramming. can i only get this done at a dealer or is there after market something i can get? the reason being I am 600 plus km from my nearest dealer and at 60 klmph I am going to have a very long trip and also be a slow moving hazard on the highway. any suggestions guys?
not sure what year the aod/transfer came out of but they work fine other than shift point problem rpm's are correct and it does shift but as I oonly go 60 klmph according to my gps I don't think I get out of 2-3 shift mode
What year truck and is the RPM correct even though the speedo is off?
the RPM appears to be correct, can't get over 2500 rpm though in gear as speedo go to 160 and the limiter kicks in engine runs up fine in neutral though.
What year is your truck... The one you put the tranny in. I am not seeing it
Is there a MFG code on the one you bought?? that might tell what computer it is capatable with, or you may need a new processor
just spent the last half hour crawling around in the snow, it is a 2002 f150 4x4, no number on trans i can see the only thing is the trans pan is square and metric with a reusable gasket, as to the year of this thing i don't know, what it came out of i"m not sure. the engine size is 4.6 ltr. the transfer case says borg-warner on it and is electic shifted. all i know is this combination didn't come out of a 2002 f150, with 17 inch tires
I'm at a loss for ideas other than a very very long slow trip down a winter ice road
at 60 klm/hour or 37.5 mph if your a brother from the south
